HELLO!

I'm Ashley

Founder of Miracle Mommas Community, wife, mom to three beautiful kiddos and to one fur baby.

After experiencing a miscarriage early on, I was blessed to give birth to three beautiful babies over the five years to follow. Today I have 10 year old daughter, Grace, 8 year old son, Kurt, and 5 year old daughter, Alice.

Pregnancy and mommahood was not a walk in the park for me. I envied women who actually enjoyed their pregnancies and were able to bounce back with their pre-pregnancy weight in months. I unfortunately suffered a back injury giving birth to my oldest daughter, had a 3rd degree tear (yup you read that correctly) from my son's birth, and complications that almost cost both the lives of myself and my little Alice.

How it all started...

After journaling my experiences through my pregnancies and as my children grew older, I realized that women were stuck in a paradox.

Mom's symptoms are often referred to as "complaints". One of my last appointments with Alice I timed my appointment with my OBGYN and after a quick belly measurement and a look at his laptop he was headed out back to the door. When I asked him about the the embryonic fluid I believe I was slowly losing and went to the Maternity Ward a few days prior, he impatiently turned around, poked my belly, and said "There is enough fluid in there.". Out the door he went. The appointment was 2 minutes and 39 seconds.

I believe moms and babies deserve better care. In society and in the medical practice pregnant moms are treated like cattle. Moved on from point A to point B with a lack of care, bedside manner, or support from society and the medical field.

What moms are saying...

You can get help [for postpartum depression] at any time at any of those stages [of postpartum depression]. It's never too late...motherhood is such a transformation.

I just don't understand how in this country [United States of America] when we pay so many taxes and we can afford to go to war, but we cannot afford to take care of the mother's mental health, most importantly, the baby's mental health
